CMS is the new buzzword in website development. But what is CMS?

Content Management means that you as owner/ administrator can edit and change information on your website yourself with a simple username / password login.

 

What advantages does this have for me as owner of a website?

You can make changes directly on your site without having to send it to your web developer. Your changes will reflect immediately to the whole world once changed.

 

Why should I manage my site as a CMS?

You will be able to make small changes and add specials and breaking news as it happens. Your site can now become an effective marketing tool.  CMS also have a lot of extensions that can be added to your site, as you desire. Eg.

What are the costs for a CMS site?

To implement a CMS site costs the same as a normal (traditional) website if done from scratch.  The hosting is also the same for standard features.  Costs of extensions depend on the features but can be implemented at any time. It does not have to be part of the original development.

 

I have a “normal” HTML site.  Can it be changed to a CMS site?

Yes it can! It is like an engine overall though and there are some costs depending on your current site’s size and features.  You will be able to make up the costs you spent on this change over as you will spend far less on maintenance and future re-vamping of the site.
