If your e-mails are not working or you have problems with your e-mails, you can follow this easy step by step troubleshooting to find the problem.

Arrangements during the festive season:

If you can't find a solution on this page, you can phone Hetzner, our service provider, on 0861 0861 086
I've made arrangement with them for support while we're closed for the festive season.  Just mention that you're a client of MMPOnline.

Check 1: Am I connected?

See if you can go onto the internet.  If you're reading this, the answer is most probably: Yes  (Except if you're viewing this site from another PC). If you can not go onto the internet, you have a connection problem and won't be able to download e-mails. First sort out your connection. Causes for connection loss might be:

  • You've reached your monthly cap and thus can't access the internet.
  • Your modem (DSL connection) lost the signal. Try to restart the modem. (Restarting the computer is also alwyas a good option)
  • There is a problem wth the internet lines. Phone your service provider (Eg. Telkom, Mweb, Afrihost, etc.) to confirm the connection is fine.

Check 2: Can I read my e-mail online?

See if you can login to your mail account online.  Go to mail.yourdomain.co.za (Eg. mail.mmponline.co.za - just replace www with mail)) and click on the webmail link.  Now complete your mail account and password details (Available from our offices if needed).  You should now be able to see your mails online and can use this interface to send mails untill your problem is resolved.  This will confirm that the e-mail box is fine and that your account setup might be faulty.  Check the next option...

Check 3: Is your account setup correctly?

Was your E-mail account changed recently?  Maybe due to a new setup or new computer? Maybe a new software?  In this case you'll have to go through the steps to see if your account is setup correctly.  Follow the steps here...

You are welcome to contact us on +27 13 751 2153 for assistance (Mon to Friday 7:30 - 16:00). Please note that we will do our best to sort out the account setup, but do not offer software support or faulty software installations.

Check 4:  My e-mail downloads are suddenly very slow!

  • Check your internet connection and see if browsing is also slow. Then this is a connection problem.
  • Have you installed something like an Anti-virus program recently?  They seem to slow down the PC and especially mails a lot.  Disable the anti-virus program to see if the speed increases. Check the program's help files on how to improve the speed when it is used.
  • Check your computer for virusses or spyware.  This can have an influence or speed as well.
